This course features a session from the recorded webinar, "Shaping the Sports Law & ADR Ecosystem in Singapore" held on 27 March 2025. This is the final segment of the 2-part programme.
Synopsis:
Singapore’s vibrant sports scene boasts a dynamic network of stakeholders, including international sports organisations, national sports associations, clubs and athletes. Positioned as a global and regional hub, Singapore regularly plays host to several international and regional sporting events, further cementing its reputation as a key player in the sports ecosystem.
With this thriving landscape, disputes – commercial or otherwise – are an inevitable aspect of the sports world. Addressing these disputes effectively requires a robust and specialised dispute resolution framework. Singapore’s well-established dispute resolution services, complemented by alternative dispute resolution (‘ADR’) mechanisms, offer a practical and efficient solution tailored to the unique demands of sports-related conflicts.
Recognising the need for a comprehensive framework to resolve sports-related disputes, the Law Society of Singapore aims to contribute to the growth, development and strengthening of Singapore’s sports law and ADR ecosystem. This webinar will explore best practices, emerging trends, and dedicated ADR frameworks that address the complexities of sports law disputes. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the future of sports law and ADR, empowering them to navigate and shape this evolving field.
